Colgate Games 2026

The Colgate Games are an exciting highlight for many young athletes and their supporters. As one of the largest athletics competitions in the country, this event has a rich history, running annually for over 40 years. The Games take place each January, featuring two separate events: one in the North Island and one in the South Island.

Open to children aged 7-14 years who are members of an athletics club, the Colgate Games provide a fantastic opportunity for kids to compete in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. No selection process or elite status is required, making it accessible to all club members. For athletes aged 10-14, medals are awarded for top performances in each event. For younger children aged 7-9, the focus is on participation, with flags and ribbons awarded after each event. Each athlete can participate in up to five events, with a small cost associated with each. Additionally, clubs are encouraged to enter as many relay teams as possible.
