Harriers

The Harriers season runs from April to August with a variety of individual and team events along with plenty of different training opportunities.  Check out our Cross Country running sessions for the winter season below. Please keep in mind that these may change depending on the weather, coach availability and participant numbers.

Our Club Philosophy

At our club, we’re all about building a community of runners. While we love to see our athletes challenge themselves and strive to reach their personal goals, our main focus is on fostering a long-term love of running and simply being active. We want everyone to enjoy the journey!

Remember, none of our training sessions are compulsory. We understand that many of our athletes are involved in other sports and have various commitments. However, we’re fortunate to have the incredibly experienced Graeme Christey as our coach, so if you can join us for training, you won’t be disappointed!

Training Sessions Available

We offer a variety of training sessions to suit different levels and interests:

Weekly Training:  Join us for 1-2 sessions each week at Hagley Park, focusing on both speed and endurance. These sessions are a great way to build your fitness and improve your running skills in a supportive environment.

Weekend Training:

  • Saturday: Participate in the Athletics Canterbury race or join us for an additional training session to keep sharpening your skills.

  • Sunday Morning: We head out for a long hill or forest run, rotating between Victoria Park and Burwood Forest. These runs are perfect for building endurance and enjoying the great outdoors!

Our sessions cater to all levels, and they’re a fantastic way to improve your fitness while having fun and meeting new people!
